The oil was drained from this Honda Civic, and – in an amazing turn of events – it just kept going on and on
The aim was to see which cars out of a selection of three would run the longest after being completely dry of oil.
And, in a miraculous turn-up for the books, the Honda came out on top.
In fact, the Honda Civic was the gift that kept on giving.

This Honda Civic ran for a remarkable time without oil
Honda’s cars are world-renowned for their reliability and performance.
From daily drivers to EVs, the company has done it all.
For example, one woman who bought a Honda Prologue was absolutely over the moon and even said it was a ‘Range Rover dupe’.
Plus, Honda’s new futuristic GT EV is set to come with more screens than a movie theater.
But, one man went a step further than praising the engineering of the car and instead put it to the ultimate test.
Over on the carwow channel, one gearhead decided to see what was really hidden underneath the hood.
So, in a battle of the best engineering, three models were drained of oil to see which would last the longest – a Peugeot 205, Ford Focus, and a Honda Civic.

He ran them until they completely conked out and drained dry of any fluid at all.
To make it fair, rocks were put on the accelerator and then the cars were started up.
The Honda Civic outperformed every other car
It was a battle of engineering to see which car would give up first, with the Peugeot 206 taking third place.
Next to admit defeat was the Ford Focus, which checked out not long after.
The Honda, however, seemed to be the gift that kept on giving.

Even after two minutes with no oil, there was no sign of it calling a day, so, in a bid to give it a real test, the car enthusiast got behind the wheel.
Even at six minutes, it was still going strong.
When it did eventually call it quits, the man enlisted the help of an age old method – mentos and coke.

And, as luck would have it, it started up the engine again.
Of course, it did stop in the end, not long after the six minute mark – but it had a good run.
