The new 1,200HP Ferrari F80 supercar can brake so quickly it feels like you’ve hit the pause button on reality.

The F80 might be Ferrari’s greatest supercar in years, being the successor to the LaFerrari hypercar that came out over 10 years ago.

Hybrid power, all-wheel drive, and insanely good looks have helped to make this a very exciting car from the factory of Maranello.

Yet its braking power is just as impressive, with the hypercar able to stop from speeds well over 100MPH in an amazingly short space of time.

The Ferrari F80 is a work of art, and it gets even better when you dive below the surface.

Ferrari has used its motorsport expertise when it comes to the braking system of the supercar.

The brakes are coated with silicon carbide, which helps with thermal management.

That allows them to provide their full performance, even under extreme temperatures and harsh braking.

The Italian manufacturer says the F80 can stop from 62MPH in just 28 meters.

From 124MPH, though, the stopping distance is only 98 meters, which is very impressive.

The Prancing Horse has shared a YouTube video showing off the braking technology used in the new F80.

But it isn’t just the brakes that make this car so incredible.

Packed under the hood is an engine we’ve called incredible, a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that makes 900HP.

Added to that is an electric motor at the front, plus an F1-derived MGU-K system.

These two add another 300HP to the F80’s total, giving it a maximum power output of 1,200HP.

Ferrari says the 0-62MPH time of the car is just 2.15 seconds, with it boasting a top speed of 217MPH.

Not only that, but the F80 is a striking-looking supercar as well.

It bears no similarities to the LaFerrari that came before it, making it a totally clean slate for the manufacturer.

Scissor doors are an obvious highlight, as is the large rear wing and diffuser.

The front of the car is very aggressive, with a radical S-duct situated where the carbon fiber hood is.

Inspired by its 499P Le Mans-winning racecar, the S-duct helps to increase the top speed of the car.

Of course, you will have to have deep pockets if you want to get your hands on a Ferrari F80!
