This 1972 BMW 2002 costs over $200,000, but it’s worth every penny.
The car was built by Son of Cobra, a company run by Paul LeFevre that specializes in some incredible restomods of classic BMWs.
BMW has always been LeFevre’s specialty, as has the BMW 2002, which is how they created this truly beautiful masterpiece, with every ounce of performance squeezed out of it.
While it might cost a lot of money, this incredible restomod is worth every penny, and perhaps more enjoyable to drive than modern BMWs.

LeFevre moved to California in the United States in 2016, and this is where he began creating these custom BMWs.
LeFevre came across a 1972 BMW 2002 north of Los Angeles in Verona Red, and he bought it and decided to drastically change the car.
The initial process sees all aluminum and steel body panels stripped from the car.
These are then replaced with carbon fiber, with an Alpina-inspired widebody kit hiding many of the parts.

That kit is also made of carbon fiber.
The car’s curb weight was reduced to 1,800 lbs, a drop of 400lbs.
Essentially, LeFevre wanted to build a 2002 race car for the street.
In essence, he wanted a low and lightweight car with a very high horsepower ratio.
Think of the car as original factory-enhanced, or OEM+.
The engine in the car is a choice of two.
Either a stroke-out version of the original M10 engine, or a BMW E30 M3-sourced S14.
The overhauled M10 is probably the best choice, with the 1.8-liter 100hp engine becoming a 2.3-liter 180hp brute.

However, if you fancy splurging your cash on one of these, you have to be part of a very select club.
Only five of these epic cars have been built so far, and LeFevre hand-selects his customers personally.
Plus, as you can imagine, none of the builds are cheap, given the $200,000 cost.
But you get something truly spectacular for your money, and we think that these builds are worth every dollar.
