This is the Spiritus, an all-electric three-wheeler launched by a Danish company called Daymak Avvenire.
There are two available versions; the entry-level model, dubbed Deluxe, and the range-topping model called the Ultimate.
This trike is fitted with a plethora of tech-friendly features including built-in WiFi connectivity, solar panels for super-fast charging, safety cameras and – this is the party piece – it is designed to be used as a bitcoin, ethereum and dogecoin miner.
How does it work?
Daymak said they developed “the world’s first cryptocurrency suite for EVs”, called Nebula.
It basically means it’s equipped with a built-in wallet, allowing owners to send and receive BTC, ETH and DOGE.
It also recycles unused electricity, combined with the energy it gets from the solar panels on the roof, to mine crypto while the car is stationary.
Daymak isn’t a new company – it builds electric bikes and scooters – but this is its first EV that’s vaguely comparable to a car (even though it technically isn’t one).
And this trike isn’t out-of-this-world expensive, with prices starting from a little more than $21,000.
The Deluxe:
The Deluxe is powered by a 36 kWh battery pack, giving it a range of 180 miles, and it does 0-60 in 6.9 seconds.
The Ultimate
The range-topping model has an 80 kWh battery pack, with a range of 300 miles, and according to Daymak, it accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.8 seconds, chiefly thanks to the fact that it’s built entirely out of carbon fibre.
