This Peugeot concept is modernizing the Peugeot 504, even giving it a vinyl turntable in the back.
Built as a tribute to the music and legacy of rapper Rim’K, the concept car reinterprets a historic Peugeot model through a restomod lens.
While the exterior retains elements of the original 504, the design has been transformed into a meaningful blend of nostalgia and innovation.
The result is epic.

A concept built on heritage and emotion
Based on the iconic 504 Break from the 1970s, the concept keeps the original silhouette but updates its posture with a lower stance and fresh finishes.
The restomod approach allows the design team to retain the identity of the Peugeot 504 while injecting contemporary personality through reworked surfaces, color choices, and interior details.
The interior is where the car’s message becomes clearest.
Most striking is the integrated vinyl turntable, created by designer Jean-Baptiste Anotin.

Milled from a solid block of aluminum and fully functional inside the cabin, the player invites the driver to reconnect with music as a physical, intentional experience.
Anotin said the goal was about ‘putting music at the heart of the journey, not just in the background’.
Other nods to history include a matching blue luggage set mounted on the roof, and seat fabric inspired by everyday French living.
The Peugeot concept has futuristic design tech
The Peugeot concept is not just a restomod in appearance.
Inside, it features the Hypersquare steering system first seen in Peugeot’s Inception prototype.
This rectangular control interface points to Peugeot’s future vision of cockpit design and user interaction, offering a stark contrast to the vintage exterior references.
What makes this car unique is its origin. It was not built under a product brief or as part of a production roadmap.

Instead, it was developed by the design team at Peugeot following a casual conversation about the 2000 Victoires de la Musique.
Design Director Matthias Hossann explained that ‘the team started sketching just for fun, with no deadline and no official project in place.’
From there, the idea evolved into something more powerful.

By combining the legacy of the Peugeot 504 with meaningful cues from French rap, the car became a cultural touchstone rather than a mere styling exercise.
The Peugeot concept is a rare blend of cultural reference and future ambition.
By using the vinyl turntable, and French rap as a centerpiece and honoring the roots of the Peugeot 504, the brand shows how design can be personal, memorable, and forward-looking.
For a one-off build, it carries significant weight, not just in design terms but in emotional value.
It reflects a belief that cars can tell stories, carry identity, and serve as vehicles for memory.
