Toyota has found itself incredibly impressed with the exploits of one Louisiana native who’s a big fan of the Tundra.

Victor Sheppard is the man who has put 1 million miles on his Toyota Tundra.

Back in 2016, Sheppard’s 2007 Tundra flew past the 1 million-mile mark.

And to celebrate, the Japanese brand had the perfect gift – a second, brand-new Tundra.

Louisiana man breaks incredible record in Toyota Tundra

Owning any kind of Toyota vehicle generally points to reliability and endurance.

But this latest example has managed to push this philosophy to its very limits.

Vernon Sheppard is the Louisiana native at the heart of this record-breaking story.

It was actually all the way back in 2016 when Vernon Sheppard first made his mark.

Louisiana’s Sheppard previously owned a 2007 Toyota Tundra.

And 2016 saw the man break the 1 million-mile mark in his nine-year-old truck.

And the brand was so impressed with Sheppard that it got in touch with him.

The local dealership didn’t just want to make a PR example out of Sheppard, though.

Instead, the local dealership had the perfect gift waiting for him.

The dealership handed Sheppard the keys to a brand-new 2016 Toyota Tundra.

And the best part of it all was that Sheppard got it free of charge as a reward for his dedication and loyalty.

Sheppard breaks 1 million mile mark for a second time

In an unbelievable twist, Sheppard has passed the 1 million mile mark for a second time.

However, it was not passed in the truck that the maker gifted him.

Before being rewarded with a new truck, Sheppard had already purchased a replacement.

This truck, a 2014 model, has now also passed that titanic threshold.

He started using his 2014 Tundra for work use, while saving his gifted truck for personal use.

An even more incredible part of the story is how little work the truck has required.

The first million-mile-hitting Tundra completed the feat with the original engine and transmission.

Even his 2014 truck has performed amazingly, with no major engine issues at all.

In fact, the only thing that has needed to be replaced is a new transmission after 860,000 miles.

It’s safe to say that Victor Sheppard has already driven more than the average human does in a lifetime.

And what an incredible testament to the craftsmanship and quality of Toyotas.
