An ultra rare Michael Jordan basketball trading card is expected to sell for up to $3 million at auction.
And the estimate doesn’t really come as a surprise as the GOAT never fails to attract the kind of collectors who are willing to pay a high price to get their hands on a piece of NBA history.
Two years ago someone paid more than $57,000 on a photocopy (yes, a PHOTOCOPY) of the six-time NBA champion’s first contract with the Chicago Bulls.
And Christie’s is banking on this interest with its Six Rings – Legacy of the GOAT online auction when the Michael Jordan Upper Deck Signed 1986 Fleer #57 Rookie Card will go under the hammer.
The card is described as “one of the rarest and most valuable basketball trading cards in existence”.

The final pair featured in Netflix’s The Last Dance (great watch, highly recommend), which documented Jordan’s career and his ruthless pursuit of his six titles.
They were also worn by Jordan during his second-to-last game as a Chicago Bull in Game 5 of the 1998 Finals.
Jordan is considered one of the greatest, if not greatest, NBA players of all time.
He was known for his take-no-prisoners approach to winning games, an attitude which caused friction not just with players on opposing teams, but his own as well.
The Chicago Bulls legend once punched teammate Steve Kerr.
