After handing his BMW over for repairs, one man in Washington, California, is now considering legal action against the garage after his dashcam caught a wild joyride.
When you pay for a service and trust a garage with your car keys, you expect a level of respect for your vehicle.
After all, you pay for a fix, not for a mechanic to have the time of his life behind the wheel.
But that’s the story that this man told Fox News, as his dashcam caught the mechanic taking his car on a test drive and breaking every rule.

BMW owner finds dashcam footage of mechanic on 110mph joyride
If you’re reluctant to get a dashcam, this story might change your mind, as the savvy video recorder can pick up some shocking footage.
The tale, told on Fox 11, revealed that one man trusted an unnamed garage with his BMW repair and was told that all of the problems had been fixed.
However, after picking it up, he found his stereo wasn’t working.
This prompted him to take the car back and check the dashcam footage to see if someone had been using the radio.
Lo and behold, the man found a clip of his car being driven down an interstate at over 110mph, with the mechanic weaving in and out of lanes to overtake other vehicles.

The report suggested that the garage accepted that the mechanic took the car on an unnecessary trip, but claimed that they would not be ‘extorted’.
In the video at the top of this article, you can see the mechanic reach 113mph.
His BMW didn’t appear to have any damage from the ride, but the owner is still considering legal action.

It’s not the first time cameras have caught shocking footage
Last year, another woman had a similar experience with a garage.
This time, the Ford Focus RS wasn’t burning rubber like the BMW in Washington, but rather running to McDonald’s and 7-Eleven drive-thrus as the mechanic took the car home and treated his son to a bite to eat.

The internal cameras pick up all sorts of spooky footage nowadays, as it becomes ever more important to have a dashcam in your car.
Some governments are even offering free dashcams to ensure that there are more eyes on the road than ever before.
