Remember the time will.i.am, Mercedes, and West Coast Customs all worked together on the pop star’s custom Mercedes-AMG GT 63?

The custom build looked like a DeLorean, or, forgive us for this, a Delor.i.am.

Officially called The Flip, it also went by WILL.I.AMG.

Name aside, it got quite the makeover and not just an exterior touchup either.

West Coast Customs and will.i.am

Back in 2022, when American rapper and singer will.i.am became the brand ambassador for Mercedes, the world saw one of the coolest custom Mercedes-AMG GT 63 builds ever.

Unveiled at the Miami Grand Prix in Florida, this Delorean-esque Merc stood out.

But due to its unconventional design, it received mixed reactions from the audience.

But one fact stood true — it was unique.

Will.i.am personally worked with the team at West Coast Customs to build this machine.

He also shared some behind-the-scenes images of the project and mentioned how much he loved working on it.

“[It was] built from passion,” he said.

“Learning how to lay carbon fiber was the best experience… helping the team was the best creative experience I’ve ever been a part of,” his Instagram post said.

Not your average Mercedes-AMG GT 63

We’re not calling it a DeLorean just for the sake of it.

Now, the artist already has a custom DeLorean DMC, but this project is something else entirely.

Although ‘The Flip’ Mercedes-AMG GT 63 has certain elements inspired by the G-Wagen (cue: headlights), its unique shape combined with the tires makes it look like a DeLorean.

All things considered, it still is a GT 63 at its core.

The four-door coupé features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 powerhouse with 630 horsepower.

That means it’s not just a pretty face — but also packs a punch.

West Coast Customs is famous for iconic projects like these.

One of the firm’s most recent projects was Shaq’s custom Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Oh, and there was also the Porsche Cayenne minivan that Mark Zuckerberg ‘designed.’
