If you’re seen driving around in a Tesla Cybertruck, chances are people will think you’ve got cash to splash.

But driving around in Cybertruck plated in 24-karat gold? That’s another level of showy.

Cybertrucks, whilst doing very well as far as sales go, definitely have a divisive look.

But a gold plating is more than enough to turn it into bling on wheels.

So, how much does it cost to give your Tesla the Midas touch?

It costs just $60,000 to give the Cybertruck a gold coating, which is more expensive than the vehicle itself (Starting prices are $40,000, but many are paying well over $100,000).

Not the only interesting Cybertruck color modification we’ve seen, though.

As jewelry aficionados would know, 24-karat gold is the best type of gold as it has a purity of 99 percent.

Worn jewelry is usually made from 14-karat gold, usually combined with copper or silver for improved strength.

So when it comes to coating your Cybertruck, you would want the best of the best, right?

YouTuber Zack Nelson from JerryRigEverything had just that thought – and decided to go big when coating his truck.

The process was achieved through three stages.

First, he used an electro cleaner to turn the stainless steel panels hydrophilic (Meaning they can interact with water well).

Then, he used acid to soften the surface to make them ‘accept’ the first layer of gold.

And finally, Nelson started applying the plating with a mix of 24k gold and cobalt.

He used a platinized titanium brush to get the job done.

It took three people and four days to bring this gold-studded beauty to life.

And one lucky American will get the chance to own this golden Cybertruck, as the company that footed the bill for its makeover is giving it away.

Go check out the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel to find out about that.
