This YouTube explorer may have found the world’s ‘biggest and best’ abandoned scrap yard.

It contained so many cars that he eventually lost count.

Colin Smith, known online as The Bearded Explorer, has made a career out of exploring derelict sites.

But even for him, this Swedish spot was an impressive find.

A scrap yard like you’ve never seen before

In a recent video, Colin and his friend James took a look at a scrap yard started by two reclusive brothers.

They began their business back in the 1950s, collecting old and abandoned cars.

Among their haul were Saabs, Volvos, Fords, Sunbeams, Buicks, Volkswagens, and various other brands.

Over the years, however, the forest began overtaking the yard.

The signs of this can be seen throughout the yard, with trees growing up through some of the vehicles.

Not unlike this million-dollar car graveyard in a German forest that is full of rare motors.

But given that we’ve seen a plane hanging in a tree, there’s not much that would surprise us at this point.

In the 1990s, the brothers accepted defeat – one moving away and the other staying behind, selling off cars.

Fast forward to 2024 and the yard looks like something out of a post-apocalyptic movie.

Hundreds of cars line the forest area, in various stages of decay.

It wouldn’t look too out of place on The Walking Dead.

Makes for some cool drone shots – of which Colin gets plenty.

The Bearded Explorer takes a closer look

As Colin pulled into the property, he noticed a sign on the window of the house.

It informed visitors that the house was off-bounds, having previously been a summer house before it fell victim to over 300 burglaries.

The grounds surrounding it are so vast that Colin proposed he and James divide it up to get through it all.

Despite showing signs of aging from their years of exposure to the elements, Colin is still thrilled to be among them.

He said: “This is just artwork. You look at the cars, there’s probably a few bits you could save on them.

“But because they’ve been here for so long, some have been here since the 50s.

“It’s actually incredible.”
