YouTuber strapped a jet engine to his Kei truck simply just to see what would happen
- This YouTuber put an actual jet engine on a mini-truck
- It was a Japanese Kei truck, which is smaller than most regular trucks

This YouTuber had a Kei truck and a jet engine in his workshop, so he combined them to see how much of a power boost he would get.
Why did he do that, you ask?
Well, the answer is classic and utterly impractical at the same time — because why not?
Regardless, the mini truck did get a solid power boost, and the jet engine did not disappoint.

YouTuber WhistlinDiesel, formally known as Cody Detwiler, has a certain reputation for bringing out-of-the-box ideas to life.
The more correct explanation would be that he actually does what everyone has thought about but never attempted.
For instance, he once put horse and carriage wheels on a Dodge Challenger to see if it would run.
Or that one time he attempted to push the G-Wagen to its limits, quite literally.
Anyway, the star of today’s show is a red Honda Acty Kei truck powered by a jet engine featured in one of WhistlinDiesel’s recent videos.
For context, a Kei truck, similar to a Japanese Kei car, is a tiny-sized version of the regular vehicle meant to tackle narrow roadways that most regular vehicles can’t reach.
With its shrunken size, it’s not very powerful — or durable, for that matter.
That’s precisely why putting a jet engine on something like that is absurd, but who’s objecting?
Moreover, it obviously isn’t safe and certainly shouldn’t be driven on the road.
We’ve seen our fair share of jet engine-powered cars, but a Kei truck certainly stands out.
How much power are we talking about?
After the Honda Acty was fitted with the monstrosity, the team used diesel instead of jet fuel for a test drive.
These guys also held a friendly race with a Lamborghini to see what was faster.
Unlike this drag race, which included a Lamborghini Revuelto and a Ferrari SF90, it wasn’t a close one.
The Kei truck managed to fare well, and its significant speed boost helped it move so fast that it seemed it would shatter.
To top it off, the upgraded truck also got on the highway, with a fire truck arriving at its location shortly after.
Apparently, someone on the road had called the fire department about a smoking car — except the smoke was coming out of the jet engine.
Even the folks from the fire department were startled and were grateful they didn’t have to deal with the legality of that vehicle.
Ultimately, they warned the YouTuber not to turn on the jet engine on a public road, which is some good advice for everyone.
