This guy made a video to convince Jay Leno to buy his 1914 Princess Petite Speciale, a forgotten classic car from over 100 years ago.
And if you’ve never heard of this 111-year-old car, you’re not alone.
The Princess was a short-lived prototype that everyone forgot about, mainly because a production car never materialized.
But the story behind the classic car you see here is quite interesting.

The incredible story behind this car
YouTuber Ben Logan posted a nine-minute video to YouTube asking Jay Leno to buy his 1914 Princess Petite Speciale.
He literally said as much in the clip.
“I’m actually making this video specifically for Jay Leno,” Logan explained.
According to Logan, the vehicle you see here used to belong to Barney Pollard, a car collector who amassed 1,200 vehicles in the 1930s and 1940s.
The story goes that when World War II started, the US government told Pollard he would have to scrap the cars to contribute materials for the war effort.

It’s difficult to resist that sort of pressure, but Pollard did his best to save some of his cars, including this one, and he sort of managed.
Pollard apparently struck an advantageous deal that definitely felt like a win-win.
He agreed to supply scrap materials on a weekly basis, but on his own terms.
Obviously, some of his vehicles had to be destroyed.
But Pollard managed to save most of them, including this 1914 Princess Petite Speciale, which he apparently stored away in a dark barn away from anything else, hanging from the ceiling, chained to telephone poles.
Amazingly, the car survived, and it’s still here.
There are only three in the world, one of which apparently lives in the halls of the Petersen Automotive Museum.

Will Jay Leno buy this?
Jay Leno comes across as the sort of guy who might actually say yes to this.
He can definitely afford it, and he obviously loves cars in a way that most collectors don’t.
Leno doesn’t care about getting the flashiest, most luxurious cars.
He just wants to collect whatever he thinks is cool, and he owns a lot of classic cars.

For example, Jay Leno once collaborated with GM on a one-off supercar, and no one knows how much it would be worth if he tried to sell it.
He also owns a variety of experimental vehicles, including a Chrysler turbine vehicle, and they are also difficult to appraise.
Jay Leno also owns multiple Porsches and several Lamborghinis, but interestingly, he doesn’t own a Ferrari.
His car collection is worth at least eight, maybe even nine figures.
It’s difficult to determine the value of the Princess, but it’s probably not going to be that crazy.
Certainly not by Jay Leno’s standards.
