A luxury car dealer recently had an unusual customer — a 16-year-old who drove his dad’s Lamborghini Aventador for about five months and put 12,000 miles on it.

If 12,000 miles in an Aventador in just a few months doesn’t seem surprising, here’s something that will — the teenager drove it while his father was on a trip.

That means the dad didn’t know, and the thousands of miles in joyrides deprecated the car’s value by a whopping amount.

Now, he hopes he doesn’t get caught, but that will certainly be quite the task.

16-year-old drove Lamborghini Aventador for 12,000 miles in months

In a recent video on George J Saliba‘s YouTube channel, a 16-year-old shared his story about a Lamborghini Aventador.

Saliba is a luxury car dealer in New Jersey, and the teenager brought the car in for a trade-in.

It was parked at home with just 900 miles on the odometer a few months ago, but now had over 13,000 miles.

The family got the car appraised when it had low mileage and got a fairly decent offer.

However, this Lamborghini Aventador could no longer be sold for that price.

Instead, the value took a six-figure dive.

Unlike this DIY Aventador replica, the supercar was the real deal and was at stock configuration.

The teenager said he started driving it daily and didn’t know it would decrease the Aventador’s value.

A handful of not-so-short joyrides tanked its value

He drove it from Maryland to Florida almost regularly, which explains the high mileage.

The Aventador seems to be a popular choice among teenagers, as another 16-year-old was spotted driving a Lamborghini Aventador from school recently.

Although it’s an excellent supercar, it’s not exactly fit to be a daily driver.

Someone tried daily driving a supercar recently, and they said it wasn’t that practical.

It’s all about personal preference in the end, though.

All in all, it looked like the teenager enjoyed driving it because he apparently took his friend on joyrides and even pushed it to 160mph at times.

Nobody knows what the car’s owner — his dad — would have to say, but that’s unimportant.
