It recently reared its head, and has been considered one of the best barn finds of the 21st century.

1955 Porsche 356 discovered in a barn

Setting new records at high-profile auctions aren’t exactly unusual.

However, the condition of this car is what has really set it apart from the rest.

This forgotten 1955 Porsche 356 is not a car from a museum or a private collection.

In fact, this car spent over six decades in a barn – and it still only has one owner from new.

This vehicle was parked in the barn in 1962 with 60,000 miles on the odometer.

It likely would have remained there had European Collectibles not found out about it.

The California-based Porsche specialists found out about this legendary car a while ago.

Following the tip-off, the 356 was taken back to the company’s headquarters and restored.

Unlike other companies, European Collectibles decided to do something unique.

Instead of polishing off the age-related body marks, they decided to keep it original.

The original components still wear the weathered body panels from the 60 years of storage.

Of course, the interior declined somewhat during 60 years of being stuck in a barn.

So all of these components and panels had to be replaced to upgrade the interior.

The engine was also taken apart and given a thorough examination.

Shockingly, the engine only required new piston rings and refurbished auxiliary components.

The original fuel tank was able to be saved, but the gearbox and fuel system were rebuilt.

Ultimately, this forgotten Porsche 356 became a star of the 2025 Silverstone Festival auction.

And it went on to set a new record for a sale at the auction event.

One buyer ended up paying $532,000, making this the most expensive Porsche 356 Speedster ever sold at auction.

What do you think of this incredible barn find? Do you think it is worth the $532,000 price tag?
