The trailer for Black Panther 2 is finally here

The trailer for Black Panther 2 is finally here, and there’s also a release date.

Officially titled ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘, it is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 11, 2022.

In the trailer, we start from where we left off in the previous movie, with the leaders of the kingdom of Wakanda ready to fight off the invaders.

CHECK THIS OUT!

Following the sudden passing of Chadwick Boseman, the late actor who played T’Challa in the first movie, producers decided not to replace him, instead giving more screen time to other characters.

Letitia Wright stars as Shuri, the princess of Wakanda, and Angela Bassett will star as Ramonda, the Queen Mother of the kingdom who’s still mourning the death of her son.

If there’s one thing we can take away from the trailer, it’s that Namor, the ‘baddie’, will play a crucial role.

Portrayed by Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta, Namor is the king of Talokan, an ancient civilization of people who live underwater.

According to Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios, Huerta took the role so seriously that he learned how to swim for the film.

That might sound easy enough, but he also learned a Mayan language for the role.

Now that’s committment.

Marvel and Walt Disney began working on the sequel right after the release of the first film Black Panther in 2018.

They then had to completely re-imagine the story and re-write the script when Boseman, who played the protagonist, died from cancer in 2020.

The decision to not recast anybody for the role of T’Challa was made in December 2020, and the release date was delayed to November 2022.

Filming commenced in June 2021 and wrapped on March 24 this year.

The trailer has so far been well received among fans, with one user praising the film’s attention to detail.

Even sports network ESPN took to Twitter to say how ‘hyped’ they were for the film.
