After months of rumors and speculation, Google has finally unveiled its long-awaited Pixel Watch.

The tech giant certainly took its time to develop and launch its first-ever smartwatch, but it was worth the wait.

Tech-wise, the Pixel Watch is loosely based on Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones.

It uses an upgraded, smartphone-friendly version of the same software and OS.

As for the case, it was designed in partnership with Fitbit, the American smartwatch company that Google acquired nearly two years ago.

It’s made from stainless steel and fitted with a scratch- and water-resistant domed sapphire crystal.

It is available in three colorways: Matte Black, Champagne Gold and Polished Silver.

Google knows the availability of different straps, bands and bracelet has played a key part in the success of smartwatches in recent years.

For that reason, you can expect a variety of different options in the coming weeks and months.

As things stand, you can choose between 20 different bands including woven, metal, leather and rubber.

The watch integrates all the features you’d expect from a smartwatch of this caliber.

It borrows the heart rate and sleep monitoring system from Fitbit and it combines them with Google’s YouTube, Gmail, Google Maps and Google Assistant.

The watch is water resistant but not waterproof.

In simple terms, this means you can shower with it and use it while you’re working out.

However, you should be mindful if you want to go for a swim.

Especially if you plan to keep the watch underwater for an extended period of time.

Prices start from $350.

This means the Pixel Watch is marginally less expensive than its nearest rival: the Apple Watch.

For reference, the Apple Watch starts at $399.
