U.S. Army Canoo LTV

The United States Army’s newest recruit is the Canoo Light Technical Vehicle (LTV).

The specially developed EV has been enlisted to the U.S. Army for analysis and demonstration purposes.

Canoo LTV is engineered for extreme environments and includes stealth configurations.

According to Canoo, It’s been designed to be durable, with a focus on passenger and battery safety.

It incorporates carbon Kevlar for strength without the added weight, too.

The Canoo LTV is a jack-of-all-trades really, as it can be converted from a pickup to a flatbed truck, as well as a cargo truck.

With a convertible flatbed platform, it can carry standard sized plywood, construction and oversized materials.

Perfect for a trip to Home Depot then.

Jokes aside, the LTV’s proprietary modular attachment system and accessories quickly interchange the flatbed walls with many other types of mounts, including racks, ramps, storage boxes, tents, or tactical systems.

The LTV has a proprietary all-wheel drive systems with up to 600hp (447kWh / 608PS).

It also incorporates air springs, a raised suspension, and 32-inch all-terrain tires to build higher ground clearance for extreme or rugged conditions.

Perfect for the United States Army then.

Admittingly, the Canoo LTV isn’t anywhere near as cool as the infamous Army Hummer, but the company’s CEO said: “The LTV is another milestone proving the power of our technology and how it can be used, even in tactical situations.”

Canoo EVs

Canoo is making a bit of a name for itself, developing electric vehicles that are reinventing the automotive landscape.

All its vehicles are based on the company’s proprietary multi-purpose platform which integrates all the critical components of an electric powertrain.

That’s so it is as flat and efficient as possible while maximizing cabin and cargo space.

Canoo hasn’t revealed full specifications but said it will do so closer to production.
