This is the Polestar electric roadster concept car.

It looks like a spaceship, it’s packed with incredible tech, and it even comes with a drone.

And the best part? It’s actually going into production.

Check out Supercar Blondie’s Alex Hirschi’s review here!

Let’s get straight into one of the coolest features of the concept car; the drone.

The drone is built in behind the rear seat and can be deployed at speed.

CHECK THIS OUT!

It emerges from a special aerofoil that raises from the back of the car.

Once it’s out, it can fly alongside the EV and even take photos and videos of you as you’re cruising.

It’s undoubtedly one of the coolest features we’ve ever seen in a car, but unfortunately, it’s pretty much just a gimmick to drum up hype for the car.

The worlds of futuristic and classic cars collide in the latest auto news. Polestar has introduced a concept car that can drive on its own and even includes a hidden drone. Meanwhile, German tuner DMC has reimagined the Lamborghini Revuelto. Both vehicles represent the cutting-edge of automobile innovation, with Polestar showcasing autonomous technology and DMC offering a fresh take on a beloved classic.

Yep, by the time the Polestar 6 production vehicle hits the road, the drone will be nothing but a memory.

But all won’t be lost, because the production car will still have a bunch of other futuristic, high-tech features we see on the concept.

It will have the same ‘smartzone’ at the front of the car.

On most EVs, this is hidden behind a designer grille, but Polestar is keeping theirs on display.

It will have the same super thin, sleek side cameras instead of mirrors and will show the charging status on a discrete line that runs down the side of the car.

And at the back, it will have the same huge rear diffuser and taillights that double as air brakes.

Oh, and we can’t go without mentioning the self-driving function Alex showed off in the YouTube video.

Unfortunately, Polestar is keeping details about that self-driving function, and a lot of its other tech functions, under wraps for now.

Polestar wants to prove that a supercar can be fun, fast, luxurious, and also sustainable.

The carmaker is actually labeling all the different grades of aluminum on the body so each part can be properly recycled and re-used instead of being melted down into one big piece of low-grade aluminum.

Oh, and Polestar also has animal welfare front of mind, using welfare-traced leather inside the cabin.

Price

The Polestar 6 will be sold for $200,000 when it hits the road in 2026.

So this EV will be competing against serious supercars.

But the price hasn’t phased buyers, as all 500 units of the launch edition have been reserved.

In fact, reservations for the EV were full within a week of its release.

Polestar 6 specs

  • Produces 870hp equivalent
  • 0-100km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds
  • top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph)
  • all-wheel drive
  • 800 V battery system
  • estimated range of up to 600 km
