Range Rover Sport P530 design

As well as being an absolute rocket, much of the Range Rover Sport’s personality comes from its looks.

Range Rover rarely deviates from its tried and true look, but parts of this car have benefited from a complete redesign.

CHECK THIS OUT!

There are hints of other Land Rover products, like the Velar-inspired front end, but the rear end has been completely redesigned, with new lights, bumper, and tailgate.

The new features lend themselves to a modern, even futuristic exterior design.

Interior

The cabin is beautifully trimmed, with plenty of sumptuous materials on show.

However, the nasty plastic used for the speaker pods on the doors is a big let down.

The tech on offer more than makes up for it, though, with both the 13.7-inch digital dash and the 13.1-inch touchscreen super-sharp.

The ‘First Edition’ trim comes equipped with everything you could need, want or think of.

There’s wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, wireless phone charging, a head-up display, and full keyless go.

Add to that loads of driver assistance and convenience tech, heated and cooled seats with full massage capability, and you’ve got yourself a seriously comfortable car.

Oh, and there’s a powered tailgate as standard, too.

Range Rover Sport Price

Pricing for the Range Rover Sport P530 starts at $121,500 and creeps up from there with added options.

Power

The V8-powered Sport is as fast as the old SVR.

Its power comes from a BMW-sourced 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 which replaces the old supercharged 5.0-liter V8.

One thing’s for sure, it’s certainly not lost any character.

You find that turbocharging often suppresses noise, but we can happily report there’s still the right level here.

The motor packs a huge punch, too, putting out 530hp and 552 lb-ft.

It’ll sprint from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.5 seconds and go on to a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

Range Rover Sport P530 verdict

The Range Rover Sport P530 does effortless speed and luxury incredibly well.

It’s got tech to rival Tesla and a newfound level of quality from Land Rover.

All in all, the third iteration of the Range Rover Sport is a mighty fine SUV.
