Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series

It’s fair to say the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series has attained a legendary status.

It had big boots to fill, conceived from the outset to be the spiritual successor to the legendary 300 SL Gullwing.

Not only that, but it was the literal successor to the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, which concluded production in 2009.

It certainly lived up to those expectations.

Scratch that, it absolutely smashed them.

The SLS Black Series is one of Mercedes-Benz and AMG’s most exciting cars of the 21st century.

CHECK THIS OUT!

It should come as no surprise that it’s an incredibly rare car.

After all, only 132 were delivered new to the United States.

You don’t see them pop up for sale often, but we’ve managed to spot one that’s heading to auction soon.

Finished in stunning ‘Designo Mystic White II’ over a black interior, this particular Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series was delivered new to its first and only owner in October 2013.

The car’s only options were Black Series forged wheels (19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear) finished in contrasting black, as well as the Black Series Telematics Packages.

The latter included GPS navigation, radio, DVD/CD changer, voice control, blind spot assist, and a rearview camera.

Since then, the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series has been driven 616 miles.

As you’d expect, given its low mileage and single ownership, it’s in as-new condition inside and out.

It even comes with its window sticker, sales invoice, and sales brochure.

According to the RM Sotheby’s lot listing, the car received a routine service from Ray Catena Mercedes-Benz only a few weeks ago.

Basically, this is the closest you’ll get to an almost brand-new Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series – and it wants for nothing.

There’s only one downside and that’s the price: it’s predicted to achieve between $800,000 and $1,000,000 when it goes to auction in a few weeks’ time.

Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series performance

The Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series boasts a 6.2-liter V8 producing an incredible 622 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque.

When it was launched, it was the highest-horsepower naturally aspirated production V8 in the world.

Mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the Black Series coupe could sprint from 0-60 mph in a stated 3.5 seconds en route to a 196-mph top speed.
