This Ford Mustang Mach 1 barn find has to go down as one of the best ever.

Not only because of the car’s legendary status, but because it was trapped inside a Michigan barn for 40 years.

Despite the length of time it was hidden away for, it was in remarkable condition when it was pulled out.

Getting it out of the barn was easier said than done.

The Ford Mustang Mach 1 was tucked away at the very back of the barn, with several other vehicles and farm machinery blocking its path out.

In order to actually get it out, the guys in the video had to take the barn apart, removing its sheet metal exterior.

CHECK THIS OUT!

The Ford Mustang Mach 1 was last registered in 1979.

It’s not actually known when it was last driven, but it’s thought to have been tucked away in the barn in the late 70s or early 80s.

It’s not clear from the video what model year the car is, possibly a ‘69 or ‘70 model, but we do know that it was specced with the optional rear wing spoiler and sport slats.

When the barn find got to see the light of day once again, you could see its extruded aluminum rocker panel moldings and stock hub caps, designed to look like custom wheels.

Bar a few rust spots, the Ford Mustang Mach 1’s bodywork was in remarkably good condition as was the interior, with the vermilion color still in good nick.

As to be expected, the car was covered in decades of dirt and grime.

The guys then had the mammoth task of blowing off the cobwebs, soaking it in foam, then pressure washing the dirt off.

After drying it and checking the fluid levels under the hood, the Ford Mustang Mach 1 went up on a ramp so they could see the underside.

That’s pretty much where the video ends, but we do hope the new owner Joe is enjoying it.

All-in-all, this was a real barn find with a storybook ending that’s definitely worth a watch.
