You probably know that Michael Jordan’s sneakers sold for $2.2m but do you know where the seller got them from?

And do you know why Elvis Presley’s jet only fetched $234,000 at auction?

From the Russian billionaire who got his yacht from eBay to the world’s most expensive car, these are the craziest items ever sold at auction.

#1. Who sold Michael Jordan's game-worn sneakers at auction?

In 1998, Michael Jordan gave the shoes to a lucky ball boy right after a game. The ball boy kept them for over 20 years and then sold them at auction for $2.2 million. The crazy part is he wasn’t even on Michael Jordan’s team, he was with the Utah Jazz.

#2. What is the most expensive car ever sold at auction?

A 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR sold for a heart attack-inducing $142 million (!!!) in May 2022, shattering the previous record held by a Ferrari.

#3. A Justin Timberlake fan once spent $1,025 on... what?

Somebody once spent $1,025 on Justin Timberlake’s half-eaten sandwich, believe it or not.

#4. Not including art, what is the most expensive item ever sold on eBay?

Russian billionaire (and former owner of Chelsea FC) Roman Abramovich holds the record for the most expensive item on eBay.

A few years ago, he bought a 405-foot yacht on eBay for £140 million – $175 million at today’s rate.

#5. How much did Daniel Craig-signed Omega Seamaster sell for?

This Omega Seamaster No Time To Die edition, signed by Daniel Craig, was expected to sell for around $20,000.

It ended up fetching $250,000.

#6. Why did Elvis Presley's private jet 'only' sell for $234k?

Less than $250k for a private jet owned by one of the most prominent celebs in history sounds like a bargain.

But the truth is, the jet is in terrible condition.

It spent 40 years rusting away in the desert and it can’t fly.

Plus it no longer meets the necessary safety requirements to fly anyway, so the new owner actually decided to turn it into an RV.
