The launch of a new iPhone is like Christmas for companies that make phone cases and screen protectors.

And Russian brand Caviar takes it one step further by replacing the entire shell of the iPhone, not just the case.

The only problem is each of these iPhones basically costs the same as a motorcycle.

For the new iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, Caviar came up with three different designs.

The first design, dubbed ‘Dark Red’, combines black leather decorations with a shell made from forged red carbon.

The cherry on top of the cake is the mother-of-pearl Apple logo.

The second design draws inspiration from Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’ and is made from black leather and purple forged carbon.

The third design is called Black Pro, sporting a jet black titanium chassis with PVD coating and an Apple logo made from actual 24k gold.

The fourth and last (and most expensive) design is aptly called Ultra Gold and it is made entirely out of gold.

Everything from the chassis to the logo is made from the world’s most precious material. m

This gold iPhone case, dubbed Ultra Gold, is the most expensive, with an eye-watering $10,390 price tag.

The Ultra Black is the least expensive, coming in at $8,060.

It’s a bargain, isn’t it?

Meanwhile, the Dark Red and Starry Night iPhone 15 Pro models are both priced at $8,340 for the 1TB option.

And the Black Pro will set you back $8,410 for the 1 TB option.

You can buy a Ducati motorcycle for that.

Caviar isn’t new to this.

Just last year, they introduced an iPhone case that’s literally made from Tesla body panels.

Then again, the iPhone is something of a Veblen good in and of itself, but it lends itself very well to expensive customizations.

Just a few months ago, Lionel Messi spent a whopping $200,000 on 35 gold iPhones for his Argentina teammates after winning the World Cup in Qatar.
