China is testing a new safety feature for its highway network.

The new laser system, which they call ‘anti-sleep’ lasers, consists of a rainbow-colored ‘sky’ of lasers that go on and off at regular intervals on some sections of China’s highway network.

The idea is to keep drivers alert with these super colorful lasers.

Basically, like having a supersized – and glorified – rainbow above you when you’re driving.

Footage of the lasers in action is doing the rounds on social media, and the jury is still out.

Some believe they’re a genius idea, while others believe they’re just an extra distraction.
