Elon Musk real thoughts opinions on the Tesla Cybertruck

Have you ever wondered what Elon Musk really thinks about the Tesla Cybertruck?

It’s hard to know his real opinions about the vehicle as he owns the company that makes it.

You’d assume that he’d be broadly positive though, right?

Well, we can try to surmise his thoughts about the EV truck from some of his past comments.

Let’s start at the beginning – the process of building the truck in the first place.

The Musketeer is always optimistic about how things are going to go for his companies – after all, he has to be – but he’s realistic at times too.

Elon Musk predicted production challenges

The Tesla CEO, Elon Musk predicted the Cybertruck’s production challenges back in 2023.

He also stated that it’s going to take a while before the Tesla Cybertruck is profitable.

Musk estimated that it’ll take around 18 months until the Tesla Cybertruck is cashflow positive.

He predicted that it won’t be until some point in 2025.

According to him, once Tesla has navigated these production challenges – the company will be producing ‘roughly’ 250,000 units a year.

However, he was quick to counteract that by saying he believes that the Tesla Cybertruck is potentially the company’s best product ever.

“We’ve got a product with a lot of new technology or any brand new vehicle program, especially one that is as different and as advanced as the Cybertruck, you will have problems proportionate to how many new things you’re trying to solve at scale.”

He added, “It is going to require immense work to reach volume production, and be cashflow positive, at a price that people can afford.”

Fortunately, drone footage from Tesla’s Texas gigafactory suggests that the company has ramped up Cybertruck production.

Elon Musk on Cybertruck being ‘theft-proof’ and ‘apocalypse-proof’

Despite a couple of issues along the way, nobody can deny that the Tesla Cybertruck is loaded with lots of amazing features.

Musk has claimed time and time again that the vehicle is ‘apocalypse-proof‘.

According to Elon Musk, they had even ’emptied the entire drum magazine of a Tommy gun into the driver door Al Capone style.’

However, no bullets penetrated the Cybertruck bulletproof door.

The truck is even well-protected from theft.

In one instance, Elon Musk said Cybertruck is ‘the finest in apocalypse defense technology’ after some thieves failed to break into the vehicle.

Tesla Cybertruck customization

It seems that the Tesla CEO is a supporter of customization, especially when it comes to the Cybertruck.

In the past, Elon Musk has shared several of these amazing customizations on his X account.

One of these customizations even sees the Cybertruck turned into a crazy snowmobile with massive track wheels.

Musk has even made a bold claim that the company may soon offer a ‘mod package’ for the car.

According to him, this mod package will allow the Cybertruck to traverse 100m of water by changing into a boat.

In the end, it seems like the eccentric billionaire treats the EV truck as a big boy toy more than anything.
