A video of an American man driving around a British roundabout has gone viral after he completely lost his mind when he tried to understand people pulling into different lanes.

Only a handful of countries drive on the left side of the road, with the isolated islands of the UK and Australia being the most notable.

But throughout Europe and America, cars naturally slip onto the right-hand side, which begs the question: ‘Why is it different?’

Well, one American driver was left scratching his head to that very question as he lost his cool driving through a roundabout in Britain.

American man loses his cool at British roundabout

Everywhere you go, there are different driving habits. But there’s a clear distinction between American and British roads.

One driver from the UK found that his head was scrambled in places as simple as gas stations.

But this time, an American man was left vexed at a British roundabout.

Having been highlighted on Instagram, the man joined the roundabout and intended to get off on the second exit, before he was cut off and ended up driving in circles.

The video, titled ‘Legend says he’s still going round the roundabout,’ went viral as the man screamed: “What?” and “Oh my God!”.

“What the f**k is that arrow? What the f**k is this?!” he shouted.

At one junction, a lorry pulled out to turn left, which made the driver slam on his brakes.

Fortunately for the American man, he wasn’t the only person baffled by the driving on display, as Brits took to the comments to point out some poor driving by other road users.

Mission failed successfully

Some American drivers have found success on British roads straight away, but nothing is more different than a roundabout.

Technically, the issue stemmed from the driver starting out in the inside lane, which is usually reserved for drivers going past the first two exits.

However, he was soon able to go all the way around the British roundabout to get back to his route.

But that small blip aside, Brits also pointed out that the Lorry was also in the wrong.

“In all fairness, the lorry should not have pulled out,” one person said.

Another added: “Lorry pulling out to really give him the British driving experience.”

Why there are two different ways of driving is a conversation for a different day, but at least this man was able to get around safely.
