An American man built a ’70 Chevy Chevelle all by himself in his driveway to create a muscle car for the love of his life.

Victor Camacho appeared on the AutotopiaLA YouTube channel to explain his story and why he built the car for his wife, the love of his life.

Looking at the car reveals how much work has gone into it. And it’s clear that Victor’s love for his wife goes a long way.

While a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle might not be a typical gift for someone’s wife, luckily for Victor, his life partner loved the muscle car.

How Victor built the ’70 Chevy Chevelle

The car, as you can imagine, is quite a bit different from a regular 1970 Chevelle.

In the video, he explained to host Shawn Davis that the car was bought from eBay.

However, it transpired that the seller of the car hadn’t been very up front with him as to the amount of rust on it.

That caused a bit of a surprise for Victor when he began stripping the car and getting ready to work on it.

But he persevered with the build, replacing what he needed to in order to create the muscle car.

He did not want to let his wife down, as we see in the Autotopia LA video.

Big V8 power sits under the hood of the Chevelle

Like with the current Chevy C8 Corvette muscle car, there is plenty of V8 grunt under the hood.

The Chevrolet has a 454ci LSX V8 crate engine, with a big carbon-fiber intake manifold.

At the wheel, the Chevelle makes 500hp, and it is backed up by a 480-liter engine with four-speed transmission.

These are built to handle high power outputs, something this Chevrolet definitely has!

Victor has given the ’70 Chevy Chevelle an extensive carbon fiber look, too.

We can see it everywhere, ranging from the firewall to the dash exterior pieces and more.

A very nice touch is the stripes that run over the ’70 Chevy, which are inlays of carbon fiber with a clear coat.

While he had help with the paint and bodywork, Victor pretty much assembled the whole car on his own.

And luckily for him, his wife absolutely loved what he did!
