A British YouTuber who bought a BMW Z3 for just over $100 on Instagram has saved the sports car from being scrapped.
YouTuber Taylor, who runs the Taylor Made Cars channel, bought the BMW from a junkyard, and the Z3 was very much on the verge of being scrapped.
Despite this, the sports car was complete and had been on the road as recently as 2023. This was before the owner’s plans to spruce it up and sell it came to naught.
After two years of sitting and getting dirty and dusty, Taylor was able to rescue the 28-year-old classic.

Taylor met up with the owner of the sports car, Bailey, who said he bought the car in 2023 as a stop-gap.
Bailey had driven the BMW for just a couple of months.
After this, he was going to clean it up and then sell it for a profit.
However, he never got around to doing that.
Thus, the car sat at his home for two years, going nowhere.
Bailey got in touch with Taylor, who has a knack for getting beaten-up cars going, to see if he wanted it.
While the answer was yes, issues such as damp, mold, and a missing grille were obstacles that needed to be overcome.
Inside the BMW was particularly grim, with the steering wheel in particular looking pretty disgusting.
Taylor made a deal with Bailey regarding the purchase of the Z3.
If the BMW started, he would buy the car no matter what else was wrong with it.
And start it did, so Taylor quickly became the proud owner of possibly the world’s moldiest BMW Z3.
Once cleaned up, the Z3 looked very respectable inside and out.
But there was a lot of mechanical work that needed doing.
This included replacing wheels that were too big, as well as changing the spark plugs and oil filter.

Amazingly, after all of this and other issues were fixed, the Z3 not only ran better but passed its safety inspection!
Cue Taylor taking it out for a drive at last.
This marked the first time the car had been on the road in over two years, making it well worth the money.
That’s a much better end result for a car that otherwise would have been scrapped.
