A selfless dad sold his 2022 Tesla Model 3 so he could buy his daughter her dream BMW – and he took the sale like a champ.

Sometimes dad’s have to make sacrifices, like this guy who gave up his beloved 1966 Ford Mustang so his family could move states, or this man who parted with his 1973 Corvette Stingray just before his wedding.

More recently, a dad called Raphael visited a dealership to trade in his 2022 Tesla Model 3, so he could buy his daughter a BMW M3.

And even though we’re sure the sale stung a bit, he took it on the chin, like any good dad would.

He traded in his 2022 Tesla Model 3 so his daughter could have her dream BMW

To help land his daughter her dream car, Raphael visited dealership J&S Auto Haus, which is headed up by George J Saliba – who you might remember as the guy who once had a customer try to trade their beach house for a supercar.

This time around, there was no house on offer – just a 2022 Tesla Model 3.

In a short clip shared on YouTube, Saliba said that he had given the dad ‘one price, and one price only’ for the Model 3 and joked that he ‘took it like a champ’.

Saliba then revealed that after trading in the car, Raphael wasn’t about to leave empty handed.

He had splashed the cash on a BMW M3 G80 all-wheel drive finished in Dravit Grey Metallic.

The car had been boosted with a carbon fiber package and sits on M Double-Spoke Bicolor Black Forged 826M Wheels.

The BMW is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six, which pumps out more than 470 horsepower and makes it sprint from 0-60mph in just 4.1 seconds.

The BMW is undoubtedly an absolute beauty, but one Raphael won’t be lucky enough to call his own, as he’s very generously handing it over to his daughter.

The BMW will likely be a lot more expensive to run than the Tesla

Although the details of the trade-in and sale weren’t shared it’s likely that the dad will have had to stump a decent chunk of cash alongside his Tesla to get the BMW.

Let’s face it, it’s no secret that Tesla’s depreciate rapidly.

It’s also likely that the gas-powered BMW will cost a fair bit more to run than the EV.

YouTube personality SpawnPoiint recently compared the cost of running his Model 3 for a year compared to a BMW 320, and the results were eye-opening.

He added the fuel/energy costs as well as insurance and maintenance and found that the BMW cost about $2,500 per year, whereas the Model 3 was just $835.
