This guy found a dream supercar abandoned, but after he took the body off, he got a huge shock with the chassis.

UK YouTuber Hudson Auto Films found a Nova Kit car on an industrial estate, where it had been sitting for 30 years.

As you might expect, it wasn’t in good shape.

One thing was for sure – this restoration process wasn’t going to be easy, and it wasn’t going to be pretty either.

This dream supercar was in a really bad state

The host was excited to find his ‘dream car’ and was determined to bring it back to its former glory.

The restoration journey showed some promise at first, as he was able to get the engine running despite it being seized.

But that’s pretty much where the good news ends, we’re afraid.

The loss of compression led to the engine being removed, and things just got worse from there.

After stripping away the paint, extensive rust was revealed, making it necessary to remove the body.

And even that came with its own set of challenges – rusted bolts, expanding foam, and old newspapers binding it to the chassis.

But once the body was freed from the chassis, he found that it was salvageable.

The chassis, on the other hand, had a lot of problems.

The rusted floor panels needed to be removed, and the head would need replacing.

Well, you know what they say: There’s no substitute for hard work.

And boy, is this YouTuber working hard.

Restoring a car is no easy feat

As we’ve seen time and time again, restoring a car is a labor of love.

Many of these cars go a long time without any maintenance, as was the case with this trio of classics.

But when a restoration is done right, it’s so satisfying.

Just take a look at Richard Petty’s Plymouth Superbird for proof of that.

Or how about the man who spent seven months bringing his dream Ferrari back to life?
