Fans around the world waited with bated breath to see what Musk’s response would be.

And when he finally responded, even his mother jumped in.

Neither Snoop Dogg nor Elon Musk is ever far from global headlines.

But Snoop Dogg’s reason for headlining the media was very different a few years ago.

Back in 2022, Snoop Dogg took to social media with a unique request.

He asked Elon Musk for a free Tesla.

It turns out that the Long Beach icon is a pretty big fan of the EV brand.

So he decided to use his sizeable online presence to cut through the red tape.

“This is the message for Elon Musk, Nephew..I need a Tesla”, the rapper said.

“When your people came to my show, they told me they gonna get me one – still waiting.”

“Do I have to buy one? or you gonna send me one?”, the rapper emphatically asked.

Two years on, it was highly likely that the event had long gone from Snoop Dogg’s mind.

Elon Musk responds – and his mother weighs in

But the request finally came around to the presence of Elon Musk himself.

The brand CEO took to social media to issue a response of his own.

And, as you might imagine, his response was typically blunt.

“Everyone pays full price … including me,” said Musk in a post on social media platform X.

Well, it appears that that was that, then.

But the story doesn’t actually end there.

Because a very unlikely person weighed in on the story.

And that person was Elon Musk’s mother.

Maybe Musk explained that her son pays full price and that there are no family discounts at Tesla.

And that even extends to Musk’s mother herself.

It is important to note that Snoop Dogg was already a Tesla owner before this request.

In fact, Snoop Dogg purchased a white Model X SUV in 2017.

But then again – you don’t ask, you don’t get.
