This ex-convict needed a lift home after getting released from prison.

So he decided to steal a semi truck hauling 10 brand-new Corvettes.

But that’s not the craziest part of this story.

Because those cars were worth over a million dollars…

Ex-convict brings Grand Theft Auto to life

There’s a good chance that this might be the craziest story you will read today.

Because it is an event that is straight out of Grand Theft Auto V.

The story takes us to Cochise County, Arizona, and concerns an ex-convict who managed to end up straight back in the arms of the law.

Isaiah Walker had just been released from prison in Cochise County.

According to reports, the newly released man managed to make his way to the Wilcox Loves Truck Stop.

Once there, he reportedly got talking to a truck driver.

The ex-convict then ‘lulled him into a sense of security,’ according to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Department.

As the driver got back into his truck, Walker threw him out, got in, and fled in the truck.

As if stealing a semi truck wasn’t bad enough, it turned out that the truck was carrying 10 brand-new Corvettes on the back.

This means that Walker was carrying a haul worth more than $1,250,000.

Walker claims he didn’t mean to steal Corvettes

A Cochise County deputy quickly found the ex-convict driving the semi.

In all fairness, a semi hauling nearly a dozen Corvettes does stand out.

Although Walker tried to run, the police eventually managed to stop him.

Once he got caught, the ex – but soon to be current again – convict had the mother of all excuses.

According to Fox 10 Phoenix, Walker wasn’t actually trying to steal the Corvettes.

Instead, he claimed that he was simply trying to get a ride home from prison.

Walker was quickly booked into Cochise County jail for robbery, 11 counts of theft of means of transportation, and felony theft.

Thankfully, nobody got hurt and none of the Corvettes were damaged.
