To many millions of people, Ford very much remain the king of Michigan, and not just because of the Mustang

The iconic American brand still has its headquarters focused in Dearborn, Michigan.

Of course, Ford had to show off its firepower on the road in Michigan.

So it shut down the road outside its HQ to film its Mustang GT3s burning rubber.

Ford shuts down Michigan Avenue for stunt

Ford is very much a brand that is flying the flag for America on the global car stage.

The 2025 Mustang GTD, for example, has shaken the supercar world to its foundations.

It is officially quicker than any Ferrari to ever lap the Nurburgring in Germany.

American cars have always been powerful – but now they are extremely well-rounded.

They can corner; they can transfer power much better – and they can very much drift.

Speaking of drifting, the Blue Oval marque recently put on a display of these abilities.

The legendary brand recently asked the city of Dearborn to shut down Michigan Avenue.

For those who are unaware, Michigan Avenue is the major road right outside the brand’s HQ.

So when Michigan Avenue gets shut down, you know it’s a big deal.

Ford decided to take the opportunity to film something a bit special with the free road.

As a matter of fact, they decided to film their Ford Mustang GT3 cars pulling off stunts outside the HQ.

The video, which you can check out above, shows the Mustang GT3s burning rubber on the road.

In case you might have been wondering, the Ford Mustang GT3 is a pretty special car in its own right.

It is a dedicated, GT3-focused spec race car developed by Ford Performance.

The car features the beastly 5.4-liter Coyote V8 engine, as well as a unique aero package.

It actually made its debut last year through competing in the 2024 24 Hours of Daytona.

The Mustang GT3 essentially takes the seventh-generation Mustang and takes it to a completely new level.

Talk about showing off on the road outside your headquarters.
