From the self-healing Lamborghini Terzo Millennio to the mind-bending Mercedes AVTR, these futuristic cars are rewriting what we think is possible on four wheels.
Some feel like props from a sci-fi blockbuster, others look ready to hit the streets tomorrow.
We’re talking autonomous lounges, electric hypercars, and tech so advanced it makes today’s EVs feel prehistoric.
Here’s the lineup of machines that could be cruising our roads by 2035 – if the future plays out the way designers are dreaming.

1. Will Smith’s Audi RSQ concept to Audi R8 lineage
In I, Robot, the Audi RSQ looked like pure fiction – until it foreshadowed design themes seen on the R8.
The butterfly-style, rear-hinged doors, futuristic surfacing, and mid-engine layout set the stage for design elements later echoed by Audi.
Beyond the styling cues, the idea that autonomy and performance can coexist felt years ahead of its time.
The RSQ is a reminder that concept cars don’t just predict the future; sometimes they hint at it, and the R8 is Exhibit A.

2. Renault MORPHOZ: The shape-shifting EV for lovers of futuristic cars
The MORPHOZ is a literal shape-shifter.
Need range? The car extends its wheelbase and body to open up space and aero for long-haul efficiency. Back in the city, it contracts into a compact footprint that’s easier to park and thread through traffic.
Inside, the cabin reconfigures to match each mode, sliding seats and reallocating space like a living room on rails.
It’s a smarter answer to the one-car-for-all-jobs problem, hinting at a future where hardware and software adapt to you, not the other way around.

3. DS X E-Tense: Two cars in one
The DS X E-Tense looks like two designers refused to compromise, so they built both visions into one outrageous car.
One side is a raw, track-leaning single-seater with exposed carbon and a fighter-jet canopy. The other is a glassy cocoon with lounge seating, ambient light, and even an espresso machine.
It’s asymmetric by design, making a statement that luxury and performance don’t have to be blended into a single compromise – they can coexist, boldly, in one sculptural form.

4. ARES Design S1: The unicorn hypercar
Only 24 ARES Design S1 cars will exist.
Built by hand, this model takes a Corvette-sourced V8 and dials it into hypercar theater: featherweight body, razor-edged aero, and a 0–60mph claim in 2.7 seconds.
It looks like a sketch that leapt off the designer’s tablet and onto the street. In an age of electrification, the S1’s analog heart wrapped in digital-age design feels like a future classic.

5. Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR: Poster child for futuristic cars
The Mercedes AVTR feels like a living creature on wheels.
Inspired by Avatar, it swaps a steering wheel for a biometric control pad, uses organic battery tech, and can ‘crab walk’ sideways.
The car even responds to your breathing and heartbeat, blurring the line between driver and machine.
With its shimmering scales and flowing light strips, the Mercedes AVTR is less a vehicle and more an otherworldly companion, exactly the sort of thing we might expect to see cruising around 2035.

6. Cadillac InnerSpace concept
Cadillac’s InnerSpace concept is a vision of autonomous luxury.
Forget dashboards and pedals, this is a glass-topped lounge on wheels, with a widescreen display wrapping across the cabin and AI-curated entertainment or relaxation programs.
The exterior design is long, low, and fluid, looking more like a spaceship than a sedan.
By 2035, concepts like this could make driving optional and transform travel into a personalised, cinematic experience.

7. Lamborghini Terzo Millennio
Lamborghini’s Terzo Millennio is an all-electric hypercar concept that feels like it escaped from a comic book.
It can self-heal minor bodywork damage, stores energy in its carbon-fibre panels, and is designed to deliver instant torque without sacrificing the brand’s aggressive style.
The silhouette is pure Lambo drama, but the technology inside is next-level, the kind of innovation that could redefine supercars by the mid-2030s.

One thing’s clear: if more futuristic cars like the Cadillac InnerSpace and Mercedes AVTR are what we have to look forward to, the ride to the ’30s and beyond is going to be anything but boring.
