Genesis has just revealed a wild off-road concept car called the X Skorpio.
The desert-borne off-road concept not only looks fierce, but it also packs a 1,100hp V8 engine.
As you can see from the video above, it was born to tackle the heart of Dakar itself, tearing through the desert with absolute ease.
And the numbers behind the concept (and it is a concept for now) will blow your mind.

Genesis reveals incredible X Skorpio concept
Genesis has seriously upped its extreme performance game lately.
The past few months have seen the South Korean brand announce some crazy releases.
For one thing, it has thrown the covers off its GMR-001 hypercar to compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
Then there is also the small matter of the Magma GT potentially coming as a mid-engine supercar.
But the brand’s latest concept might be the most extreme of them all.

Genesis has just revealed an incredible off-road concept called the X Skorpio.
It appears to have been born to tackle the heart of Dakar itself, and it has some seriously impressive numbers to back it up.
For one thing, there is the 850lb-ft of torque from the incredible powerplant.
Then there is the small matter of Brembo Motorsport brakes, as well as custom 40-inch off-road tires.
Having been designed for off-roading, there is also a tubular frame, four-point harness system, and full roll cage.
But the headline number comes from the engine.

And that is because this beast is powered by an 1,100hp, 6.7-liter V8 engine.
Genesis showed off what the X Skorpio was capable of and it rips, tears, and slices through the desert with absolute ease.
And trust us – it is almost as much fun to listen to as it is to watch.

Will we ever see this off-road beast?
Off-roading subdivisions are a dime a dozen nowadays, with almost every major manufacturer having one.
Volvo has the Cross Country and Lexus has its Overtrail division.
Jeep, well… has almost the entire Jeep brand dedicated to off-roading.
So could Genesis really make a major splash in this segment?
Luc Donckerwolke is the Genesis Chief Creative and Design Officer and he thinks so.

“Everything has been done already,” Donckerwolke said.
But he is adamant that it is still possible to make a dent in such a saturated space.
“You don’t want to work in a place that has limited ambitions,” he added.
Like most Genesis concepts, the question is now whether the brand will actually build it.
