Gordon Ramsay once drove a strange-looking SUV on Kitchen Nightmares, and some people aren’t really sure what that was.
It looks familiar, but it also doesn’t.
It also looks distinctly 2000-esque, which it was, because these episodes date back to the early 2000s.
Mind you, this vehicle was actually based on one of the most famous SUVs ever built.

How does this rank in Ramsay’s collection?
The answer to that question is: not particularly high.
Ramsay pioneered television cooking shows and made a fortune thanks to his vision.
He figured out before most people that this was something the audience would like, and he was right.

That gave him the chance to buy a couple of rare Ferraris, including the Aperta, and nearly every rare Aston you can think of, including the Valiant and the Valhalla.
His car collection – reportedly worth around $16 million – even includes an ultra-rare DB4.
So, all in all, the mystery car you see here doesn’t rank particularly high.

The strange car Gordon Ramsay drove is actually based on a best-seller
It may not look it, but the car he drove in this old episode of Kitchen Nightmares is based on a super popular SUV.
It is actually one of the best-selling luxury SUVs ever built, and it saved Porsche.
Yep, it’s a Porsche Cayenne.

Specifically, it’s a TechArt Magnum, which was basically a heavily modified first-gen Porsche Cayenne courtesy of a German tuner called TechArt.
They’re still making this, by the way.
And it still looks almost ‘Cayenne-esque’, but maybe only if you’re into cars.
