Jeff Bezos, supercar enthusiast, megayacht enjoyer, frequent flier of private jets, business guru, and multi-billionaire, has built an empire so large that the chance of him going broke is practically zero.
But if he really wanted to splash the cash and leave nothing in the bank, then there might just be enough supercars and extravagant vehicles out there to do it.
So, how long would it take him to go broke if he spent $1m a day?
Much, much longer than you could imagine…

Jeff Bezos’ empire would take half a millennium to run out by spending $1m a day
Most known for being a celebrity business tycoon, founding Amazon, Blue Origin, and now investing in a new range of EV vehicles, Jeff Bezos’ Midas touch has seen him rack up unfathomable sums of money.
To no surprise, that’s given him a taste of the lavish lifestyle that starts with a $4.8m Koenigsegg Trevita and goes all the way to a $500m superyacht.
According to Forbes, Bezos’ net worth is estimated to be over $201 billion, as of May 2025, making him the second wealthiest person in the world behind a certain Tesla owner.
Yet if Bezos slashed $1m a day for the rest of his life – however long that is – he’d still be a multi-billionaire.
In fact, to go broke, it would take half a millennium of daily spending.
Yes, over 500 years.

Supercars, private jets, and superyachts, Bezos’ spending opportunities
With the $1m fee a day, landing you an Aston Martin V12 Speedster on Tuesday and Princess Diana’s Ford Escort on Thursday, it would take Jeff Bezos 550 years to go bust.
Even if he spent $10m a day, buying out Cristiano Ronaldo’s watch collection and Floyd Mayweather’s mansion, he’d still outlive the expenditure, unless he lived until 105.
You wouldn’t bet against it, would you?
It’s a possibility when you can afford a skin regime like he can…

While he could easily spend that much, though, Bezos does have a habit of touching base with reality when it comes to certain vehicular lifestyle choices.
Despite an $80m private jet escorting him around the world, he still drives a 1997 Honda Accord quite frequently.
For most, spending $10 a day would have us broke in a quicker time frame, but enough heart-wrenching reality checks, and time to step back into the clouded dreams of being a billionaire.
