Lewis Hamilton once sold his custom Pagani Zonda because of his ethical beliefs and netted himself a nice profit in the process.
The Formula One star treated himself to a one-off Pagani Zonda 760 LH that was based on the 760RS variant and came with a mind-boggling 7.3-litre V12 engine.
Hamilton requested a six-speed manual transmission for the vehicle – a first for the Zonda 760.
The car had eye-catching purple paintwork and accents throughout.

Lewis Hamilton has an impressive supercar collection
As you’d probably assume given his day job, Hamilton has an impressive supercar collection said to be worth around $16.5 million.
However, he recently revealed that newer cars don’t really do it for him so he’s been reluctant to add more vehicles to his already-impressive haul.
And one vehicle that’s already lost its spot in Hamilton’s garage is his custom Pagani Zonda 760 LH.

Hamilton reportedly splashed out around $2 million for the car but decided to part ways it in 2021.
He sold the car shortly after telling reporters he no longer cruised around in the supercars from his collection due to his ethical beliefs.
Speaking during the Tuscan Grand Prix in September 2020, Hamilton revealed he was trying to be more environmentally friendly.
He made a decent profit on the Pagani Zonda
“Some of it’s education because not everyone knows the footprint that our sport currently has and what we’re doing in terms of trying to improve that,” he said, according to Reuters.
“But I’m making a lot of changes in my personal life.
“I don’t drive any of the cars that I own any more. I only drive my [electric Mercedes] EQC.”
A few months on, the Italian publication Quattroruote reported that Hamilton had sold the Pagani.
The racing ace made a tidy profit on the car, with reports claiming it sold for a whopping $10.7 million.
Sadly, the poor Pagani was left seriously damaged after its new owner got into a smash.
Thankfully, the unnamed new owner was said to be unharmed and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Photos of the bashed-up supercar were shared online by photographer Ethan Gale who said the car got into an accident in a tunnel in Wales. Ouch.
