Corvette Z06 found in dusty garage with just 3,500 miles on the odometer… resurrected in stunning way

A 2001 Corvette Z06 with a low mileage of 3,500 on the odometer was found in a dusty garage before being dropped off for a full detail.

In fact, it was the lowest-mileage car the detailer and content creator had ever worked on.

Despite needing a good clean, the interior, engine bay, and exterior were in excellent condition.

2001 Corvette Z06 with low mileage discovered in garage

Despite having been sitting idle since 2018, this future classic was already in pretty good shape according to expert host, Detail Dane.

The interior of the Z06 was pretty immaculate.

“This interior is probably the cleanest interior that I’ve had on the channel… usually everything I do is full of mice, spiders, and mold,” he said.

Although it needed a vacuum, the OG branding on the seats and gauge cluster was still in place.

Despite the door and trunk jams being gunked up with leaves and debris, the trunk was clean, too.

The engine bay for the LS6 V8 that packs ‘405HP and goes 0-60 in four seconds’ was also next to godliness. Although there were signs that a mouse had been living inside the insulation.

Plus, that wasn’t the only furry critter in residence, with paw prints all over the exterior suggesting a cat may have been looking for the aforementioned rodent resident of the Corvette.

Detail Dane gets to work

First things first, Dane used a Tornador blow gun to clean out the car’s interior crevices before washing the car to prevent dust transfer.

Then he really got into the detailing process: vacuuming the interior, blowing out dirt, washing its wheels, rinsing the exterior, and prepping the American beauty for polish.

While he started the polish, he mentioned that some paint issues, including etching and blisters, would require wet sanding, which he skipped due to time.

Finally, Dan applied a ceramic sealant, namely WD Auto Supply Super Slick, for lasting shine and protection.

Roughly 30,000 C5 Z06s were built between 2001–2004, making them rare and collectible.

Today, their values range from approximately $15k to $50k, depending on mileage, condition, and year.
