This guy bought the cheapest Challenger SRT Hellcat in the US, despite it having a ton of issues.

Tyler Hoover, host of Hoovies Garage on YouTube, paid out $26,000 for the 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.

There were a few red flags making themselves known from the get-go.

The last of the car’s four crashes had caused a fair bit of damage.

What can you expect from America’s cheapest?

The final crash had left the bumper hanging on for dear life, and the hood curved back, with the car’s black finish peeling, as reported by autoevolution.

Things don’t get much better on the inside.

There are holes in the doors where the speakers used to be – likely removed at some point during the Hellcat’s lengthy stay in the auction yard.

All whilst they look around the vehicle, there’s a non-stop beeping noise.

Fortunately, it’s not accompanied by a warning sign on the dashboard.

But it is indicative of something just as annoying – the dreaded HEMI tick.

For those not in the know, the HEMI tick is a tapping or knocking sound that can occur in some HEMI engines,

It can caused by several factors, such as low engine oil, dirt or debris in the engine, or a faulty lifter.

On top of that, the tires are in bad shape and the steering wheel shakes when driven at over 65mph.

A mechanic told Tyler that he could be paying out as much as $8,000 to fix the car’s issues.

Paying out $8,000 would be bad, but you could always have worse car troubles.

Perhaps a Boa Constrictor underneath the hood? We reckon that’s just about as scary as a heavy bill from the mechanic.

The Dodge Hellcat in closer detail

The Hellcat first appeared on the scene in 2016, originally going for around $60,990.

Over the years, the value has slipped down to around $26,000, in line with what Tyler paid for his.

They can got from 0 to 60mph in a mere 3.7 seconds and could take on quarter-miles in 11.7 seconds at a speed of 125mph.

It appears that they’re not just good on land, as one man turned his into a boat of sorts.

It’s a little unorthodox, but we have to tip our hats to the creativity.
