This man purchased a Land Rover Defender with big plans.
He hoped to fix it up and make it good as new.
Whilst the repairs went to plan and the car restoration was near complete, things went downhill quickly.
In fact, after the car was sold to a friend, disaster struck.

The Defender is loved by many
Land Rover Defenders are a staple in many people’s everyday lives, and for good reason.
The versatile vehicle is even loved by royalty.
The Defender is so loved in fact, that Formula One driver Lando Norris has a convertible Defender with a pizza oven.
The brand itself has even teamed up with Virgin Galactic to send a driver into space… pretty cool right?
Speaking of cool, this guy had big restoration plans for his Defender.
Fix and flog was the plan with his Land Rover Defender
Mr Hewes paid just $12,000 for a 19-year-old Land Rover Defender TD 5 90 – what a bargain.
For the small price tag, it was actually pretty high spec and cutting edge even coming with heated seats.
Upon purchasing the car he had big plans to change the wheels, winch bumpers and standard grills.
Putting his own spin on his newly acquired wheels, he installed a new turbo and new lights as well as revamping the brakes – meaning the Defender was up, running, and ready to hit the road.
After mending and improving the car, it came time to sell it and hopefully make a decent profit.
Thanks to his hard graft – he made a profit

Mr Hewes ended up selling the car on for over $18,000 – $6,000 more than he’d bought it for.
But, the success was unfortunately short-lived.
You see, he sold on the Defender before work had even finished completion.
Which was a rookie error that ended in quite the disaster.
Three criminals broke onto his land and stole all his tools – over $1000 worth in fact – which he needed to complete the transformation of the car.
So he ended up losing a lot of cash, and having to stall his project.

Let’s just hope he had insurance for those tools and he can get back to work on the Land Rover Defender in time for the sale to go through.
