Many gearheads dream of owning a Porsche model during their lifetime, but very few get the opportunity to call a Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0 their own.

After snapping up one of the most luxurious cars that money can buy, he revealed why he chose it instead of a classic Porsche 911.

Both cars have impressive specs and an admirable amount of power output.

But, for this driver, only one car could fit the bill, and there was a whole list of reasons why.

The Porsche Cayman GTS – here’s what you need to know

Porsche has paved the way in the car industry and has quickly earned the title of one of the most luxurious car brands in the world.

The Cayman GTS can reach 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just four seconds, and with a six-speed manual transmission, it can rival the very best in the industry.

Porsche itself describes the car as ‘sporty, manoeuvrable and agile’ as well as being ‘for the road, for lots of bends, for life’.

The design boasts a unique front that consists of larger air intakes, airblades, and a front spoiler lip.

Now, one driver has revealed why he prefers the 2024 Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0 over a 911, and it may surprise you.

The Cayman GTS is this man’s dream auto snap up

Creator Magnacars chatted to Dave, the proud owner of a Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0, and you have to admit that the car was simply stunning.

The ‘Shark Blue’ car was a firm favorite of the driver, for more reasons than one.

Aside from the obvious engine performance, customisation options also proved to be attractive to the owner.

He explained that with the GTS, you are able to spec the interior, meaning it can be all leather with red stitching and carbon fiber trim, plus an analogue-inspired cabin.

But why the GTS over the classic and famous 911?

Well, he wanted a daily driver that was still powerful and identical to the GT4, but more comfortable, with the creator describing it as ‘just a little-dailyable’, just slightly detuned with a loss of 20 horsepower.

The six-speed manual transmission was also a huge deciding factor, alongside the suspension.

“It checked all the boxes for me,” said the driver.

Plus, the GTS had a different suspension that was tuned for sportiness, but not quite race-inspired.

A huge factor in any car is the price, and with a base 911 reportedly costing a whopping $160,00 to $170,000 according to the driver, the GTS was an easy decision, coming in at $105,000.

“I love the look of this. I only need two seats,” said the Porsche owner.

Plus, there was more space on offer than in other models, with both a front and a back trunk.

The driving experience was also a huge contributing factor, with the handling better than a 911 with different balance, steering response, and even a normally aspirated engine.

Dave also explained he took it to an auto-cross, which gave him a whole new outlook on the mid-engine luxury car, with the car proving to be highly achieving amongst 911 and GTS models.

“I just love driving it, it brings me joy,” he said.

The Porsche really was his prized possession, and with his ‘forever car’ making a mighty roar, it was clear he had made the right choice.

Ultimately, it was more performance with a smaller price tag.
