This man paid $6,400 for a storage unit, and – despite being slightly disappointed because it was way more than he was willing to pay – he was up for a gamble.
The guy was inspired by his love of Storage Wars and and hoped that he could make up the money he spent on the storage unit with the items inside.
Extremely luckily for him, amongst the boxes of expensive tools and hydraulic pumps was a true gem, hidden away in storage in freezing Buffalo, New York.
The car he found in the storage unit was a true American icon, costing $40,000 and in a surprising condition.

Car YouTuber and fan of popular American TV show Storage Wars, Westen Champlin wanted to experience the thrill of his favorite show by buying a storage unit in Buffalo, New York.
He was part of a very intense bidding war, and ended up winning the storage unit of his dreams for $6,400, which was far more than he was willing to pay for it, but hoped that his disappointment would soon be rectified once he got his hands on the contents.
He had 48 hours to go to Buffalo and open up his storage unit, so he flew there.
When he opened the storage unit, he was blown away.
Firstly, they found various valuable tools, compressors, and hydraulic pumps. They estimated that these items alone were worth $2,250, so he was already pleased.
A $30,000 true American icon was hidden inside
Hidden behind the piles of expensive tools, Westen found the car of his dreams -a 1979 Buick Regal in a rich green.
It was like something out of a West Coast hip hop video – built for the streets of California rather than New York.
The lowrider had a rebuilt hydraulic suspension, a shaved firewall, and a 4.3L V6 engine and was in a shockingly great condition.
After phoning a friend, he estimated that the car was worth between $25,000-$30,000, making it a potentially enormous profit.
The biggest question was whether the car actually ran.
The car was fired up and ran smoothly much to their delight.
After inflating the Buick’s wheels and driving it around, they confirmed that the car was fully functional and in fabulous condition.
Westen was over the moon with his gamble and suggested to his followers that he’ll do some hydraulic tests in the future. This off-brand episode of Storage Wars was incredibly successful, well done Westen!
