Footage shared on X shows the mesmerizing image of a cruise ship sailing away over the horizon, which is just the kind of footage that would shut up flat-earthers for good.
The video was shared on the social media site by Historic Vids, and while it’s been sped up, it gives you a good idea of how a ship disappears from view.
We can see it gradually fade away into the distance, something that wouldn’t happen if the Earth were flat.
Maybe this video will put the minds of flat-earthers at ease for good.

What we see in the footage of the cruise ship
In the footage, the ship is seen sailing off into the distance away from the camera.
In it, we can see the video sped up to show the vessel move away faster than it actually did.
But as it sails over the sea, gradually it becomes smaller and smaller as it fades into the distance.
The rear of the ship seemingly dips below the surface of the sea, initially looking like it is sinking.
But it is just the cruise ship vanishing over the horizon as it heads away.

It then pauses briefly, presumably as part of the cruise, as the daylight fades and night comes along.
As night draws in, the ship slowly sails away and then disappears.
That is certainly proof that the Earth isn’t round.

The footage of the ship is mesmerizing
There is something particularly mesmerizing about the cruise ship as it vanishes over the horizon.
It is also satisfying just to simply watch it head away on its travels.
You can only wonder where it might be headed, who it’s carrying, and where it’s come from.
The flat-earth belief has been around for generations and is not based on scientific knowledge.
Quite a few people joke about those who believe in the theory.

One simply said if the Earth were flat, then ‘explain day and night.’
The flat-earthers theory is an old one, and one that, for some reason, some still choose to believe.
But as almost all of us know, the Earth is very much round.
