After moving on from his Tesla Model S after a decade behind the wheel, this new Lucid Air GT owner has instantly crowned it as his favorite car ever.

When it comes to EVs, the Tesla Model S has reigned supreme as the fastest and most affordable sports car available.

But it does face stiff competition after five years on the throne.

Namely, the Lucid Air GT is a hot rival, and one man who made the switch is definitely not looking back.

Leaving the Tesla Model S for a new Lucid left this man stunned

The Lucid Air models have become rather natural successors to the Tesla Model S for people who bought into the EV dream early.

The Model S was clearly an industry leader for a generation, but now people are moving on to Lucid in their masses.

And most of those who do switch have spoken about their joys.

One of those who made the switch is Steve Faberman.

Taking to the Lucid Owners Club Facebook page, Faberman revealed his thoughts after completing a 275-mile trip.

“Car is AMAZING to drive and I couldn’t be happier with the overall experience on the road,” he said.

While he noted that some features like the navigation screen, the radio, the ‘speed monitor’ UI, and the windshield washer system aren’t quite as good as the Tesla Model S, many other features completely trumped it.

Particularly, the battery life, the speed, the comfort seats, and the aesthetics were all better, and they’re pretty substantial features for an EV.

New Lucid Air GT owner hails it as ‘truly remarkable’

There’s no denying that the Lucid Air GT is a great car; after all, it’s already a Guinness World Record holder.

Having landed this EV for around $130,000, though, Faberman says it’s by far his favorite, over any version of the Tesla Model S.

“Overall, this is my favorite car to drive that I’ve ever owned. Full stop,” he said.

“It’s truly remarkable to be able to move a decent-sized automobile around that quickly and precisely while proving maximum comfort inside the cockpit.

“I hope they can continue improving the technology interface and give us more options to customize our screens.”

Still, the Tesla Model S needs to be applauded for building the foundation on which the Lucid Air GT could build.

And, Tesla is still giving Lucid a helping hand
