Mercedes is known for building some of the most luxurious cars on the road, and now it’s teamed up with Airbus to create a helicopter with a Maybach-style interior – the ACH145 Mercedes-Benz Edition.
Its latest creation certainly isn’t something you can park in your driveway.
Instead, the German automaker has taken luxury up a notch – literally.
The result is a helicopter that’s expected to cost well over $10 million.

The Mercedes-designed helicopter that feels like a flying Maybach
The ACH145 Mercedes-Benz Edition is a special collaboration between Mercedes and Airbus Corporate Helicopters and is built on the company’s five-blade H145 platform.
Step inside, and it’s immediately clear this isn’t a typical helicopter cabin.
Instead of the stripped-back interiors most people associate with rotorcraft, the space feels more like a luxury Mercedes lounge.

The design takes clear inspiration from Mercedes’ high-end cars and concepts, including the EQS and various Maybach models.
There are bright leather upholstery, carefully stitched seats, metallic trim, and even wood flooring that make the cabin feel closer to a private jet than a utility helicopter.
The layout is built around comfort, too.
Depending on configuration, the ACH145 can carry between four and eight passengers, with storage compartments and cabinets cleverly built into the seating areas.
Buyers can choose among six interior design themes named Atlas, Meteor, Phoenix, Zenith, Polaris, and Solaris.

But for the sort of clients shopping in this price bracket, those presets are really just a starting point, because Airbus is also willing to create completely bespoke interiors.
Underneath the designer touches is a serious piece of engineering.
The twin-engine helicopter cruises at around 137 knots, or roughly 158 miles per hour, and can stay in the air for about four hours.
Its newer five-blade rotor system also reduces noise while increasing payload capacity by about 331 pounds.

The ultra-luxury helicopter market is getting serious
The Mercedes-styled helicopter made its debut in São Paulo, Brazil, which isn’t a random choice.
The city is widely considered one of the helicopter capitals of the world, with thousands of flights happening above its traffic-packed streets every day.
This isn’t the first time Mercedes and Airbus have teamed up, either.
Their partnership dates back to 2010, and Airbus says the earlier Mercedes-inspired ACH145 has already delivered 26 examples.

What’s changed in recent years is just how much attention manufacturers are paying to the interiors of these aircraft.
For ultra-wealthy buyers, helicopters are no longer just practical transport between homes, offices, yachts, and airports.
They’re extensions of a luxury lifestyle.
That means the same design language people expect in a $200,000 Mercedes or a Maybach limousine is now showing up in the sky as well.
And with a price tag expected to land well above $10 million, the ACH145 Mercedes-Benz Edition makes one thing very clear: luxury doesn’t stop at ground level anymore.
