Driving can look different for every single person on the planet, but for these conjoined twins, things are very unique.

Abby and Brittany Hensel hail from Minnesota, and drew worldwide attention when they revealed all about how they live.

From education to relationships, the twins shared what goes on behind the scenes, sharing what it’s really like to share a body.

Perhaps, though, the most interesting element is how they are able to drive.

The conjoined twins haven’t let their condition stop them

Being a conjoined twin means that everyday life looks slightly different to most of the population.

In fact, according to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, conjoined twins occur once in every 50,000 to 60,000 births, so the condition is somewhat uncommon.

Perhaps the most well-known twins are Abby and Brittany Hensel from Minnesota, who even starred in a TLC TV series about their lives.

The twins share one torso, and have two brains, two hearts, which are part of a shared circulatory system, and two spinal cords.

The show gives insights into their daily lives, including their teacher training and even going on roadtrips.

This is how driving works

You may be puzzled about how the conjoined twins are able to drive and operate a car, but it turns out it’s actually rather simple.

“As we’re driving, we’re both watching the road,” the pair said on their TV show.

“We have two licenses, and when we got our driver’s license, we each had to take the test, and we both passed,” they said.

When it comes to operating, simple delegation keeps the car operating smoothly, just like any other driver.

“When we drive, Abby is in control of the gas and the brakes, and we both steer, and I’m in charge of the blinker,” said Brittany.

So, it turns out that the process is simple and just like any other, if not better.

The pair are also the proud holders of two separate degrees, but receive one salary, according to the BBC.
