A NASCAR garage fit for a full racing team

The NASCAR garage follows a logical path from teardown to inspection, rebuild, and rollout.

Each step has its own space, including dedicated rooms for suspension components, transaxles, electronics, and cooling systems.

The final stage is the assembly room, where cars are put back together before being wrapped and prepped for race day.

Lighting and layout were selected to help technicians, not to impress visitors.

The flooring uses a light-colored tone to increase visibility when working under vehicles.

No space in the NASCAR garage is decorative. It all supports the mechanical process.

Denny Hamlin handled the initial design phase himself, sketching layouts on cardboard and adjusting space by task.

His focus was on daily use. Every high-traffic area is within reach of the key work zones.

Managers have a central command point, and the garage’s overall layout keeps movement tight and functional.

CJ Walker, the lead athletic trainer, says the work targets core strength, neck support, and heat endurance.

“We build around the actual forces they face in the car,” he said.

There’s also a shared café, placed between departments to bring staff together during the day.

According to Denny Hamlin, this was a practical move.

When people from the business and technical sides meet informally, it improves how the team functions.

A practice pit lane runs outside the main garage.

Pit crews rehearse stops at the correct race speed, while drivers train for braking and positioning.

Inside, the Exfinity Speed Center is used for reviewing video and running analysis.

Engineers who stay behind during race weekends use this space to monitor data and support the crew at the track.

Public viewing windows allow fans to observe the work happening inside the NASCAR garage.

The fabrication and teardown zones remain closed, but visitors can watch the car rebuild process without interrupting operations.

Construction on the 2311 Racing headquarters was handled by CHO under a tight timeline.

Custom elements, including angled walls and LED lighting, were approved as long as they didn’t interfere with function.

According to the site superintendent, the goal was to build a place that performs well over time, not a display piece.

2311 Racing now operates out of one of the most functional NASCAR garage setups in the sport.
