New York City has been named the wealthiest city in the world.
A staggering number of its residents are millionaires with one in every 24 people holding a six-figure bank balance.
Other cities come close, but The Big Apple has Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange to contend with.
Not only does it have the most millionaires, but you’ll also find the highest number of billionaires in this city.

What makes New York the wealthiest city?

It’s no secret that New York is home to people with money.
Displays of wealth are everywhere, from a crowd gathering to watch a one-of-64 supercar unboxed in the street, to Supercar Blondie herself test-driving a six-figure Lamborghini.
Even barn finds in New York are different, with anything from a rare Lamborghini Miura S to a legendary Porsche supercar left abandoned in the city.
According to a recent report by Henley & Partners, the city is home to the most millionaires in the world.
There are a whopping 350,000 to be found here, which works out to one in every 24 residents.
What’s more, 744 of those people have at least $100 million, and 60 of them are billionaires.
In total, the city’s wealth exceeds $3 trillion.
Other millionaire-filled metropolises

Second was another US city, San Francisco’s Bay Area, where over 300K millionaires have made their home.
Tokyo was third on the wealthiest city list, with 298,300 six-figure citizens.
No surprise, considering one of its residents owns a $3 million Pagani Huayra R.
At number four was Singapore, home of the vending machine that dispenses luxury cars.
The most well-off city in the Middle East is Dubai, where millionaires have their own luxury car version of Uber.
New York, at the top of the list, is on the rise, with its millionaire count up 48% from a decade ago when one in every 36 residents was a millionaire.
“They must own all the $4k/month shoe boxes that get rented out,” one commenter said.
“So, what you’re saying is… If I move to New York I’ll be a millionaire?! Let’s go!” another commenter said.
